Principal's Message

Dear Mayo Community, 

As we embark on the 2026-2027 school year I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal of Augusta A. Mayo Elementary. While I have already met some families I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you as we start a new school year in a few short months. 

I am looking forward to leading the Mayo rockets and continuing to build on the legacy of success that Mr. Robinson has worked so diligently to build over the last decade. I know that I have big shoes to fill and I accept the challenge of leading this school community with the same grace, compassion and determination that our community deserves. 

As the mother of two I value your partnership and look forward to working with you to assure that your child reaches his or her utmost potential. I strongly believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities. It is my goal to cultivate a learning environment where every student is excited to learn and tries their best everyday. I bring over a decade of experience working in schools throughout the country, most recently here in Compton Unified as Assistant Principal of Clinton Elementary. 

Throughout the summer we will be updating some of our policies and the parent handbook so please stay tuned for more updates via parent square and our school website. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please reach out to me via Parent Square, email, or come in to complete a form or speak with our front office staff.
